The SEAConn Board of Directors are the governing body of the organization and consists of the Officers plus two Board Members elected by the membership. The Board manages the business and the affairs of the Association and upholds and promotes the purposes and objectives of the Association as stated in the SEAConn Bylaws.

Officers

President: Tom Bronson, PE

S/L/A/M Collaborative


Thomas Bronson is a Senior Associate at The S/L/A/M Collaborative, where he focuses on education, corporate and healthcare projects. Thomas received his Bachelor of Science of Civil Engineering from Viginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and his Master of Engineering from Lehigh University. Thomas has been an active member of SEAConn and its predecessor SEC, having served on the Threshold Review Committee, a Co-Chairman of the Code Advisory Committee, a director on the board from 2013 to 2015, and currently serves as President.


Vice President: Rick Way, PE, SE

DeStefano & Chamberlain, Inc.


Rick is an Associate Engineer at DeStefano & Chamberlain, Inc. While his passion is for Timber Frame and Mass Timber engineering, his work includes commercial, residential, and educational project. Rick graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineer and Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.

Rick has been on the SEAConn board of Directors since 2021 and became the Vice President in 2023. He has served on the Building Code Advisory Committee and is an active member of the Timber Frame Engineering Council where he serves on the Technical Activities Committee. 

Rick is an avid fisherman, makes super-premium small batch ice cream, and is an amateur meteorologist.

Treasurer: Aaron LaDue, PE

B&L Companies


Aaron LaDue is a Project Manager at BL Companies where he manages a dedicated team of design professionals and drafters. He has an extensive construction background in design-build type projects that was acquired prior to becoming a structural engineer that is very valuable to his team’s ability to address field issues with prompt practical solutions. He graduated from Old Dominion University with his Bachelors and Masters in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural engineering.

Aaron joined the SEAConn board of directors in 2020 and became the Treasurer in 2022. He has served on the Building Code Advisory Committee.

GNCB Consulting Engineers

Tom Curry, Jr. joined the GNCB Team in 2021. His experience includes design and construction administration for a variety of low-rise, mid-rise, and high-rise building structures. Mr. Curry brings extensive knowledge of local and national building codes to the Team as well as experience with progressive structural systems. He is integral to GNCB’s technical standards and quality assurance programs.
